It operates on a not-for-profit basis and has submitted an application to the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) for registration as a charity; that registration is in progress and is not yet finalised, so Octopus Future is not yet an ACNC-registered charity. It does not hold Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) endorsement, so gifts are not tax-deductible at this time.
