Our Auslan accessibility project is underway
Work has begun on our Auslan accessibility and inclusive technology project — evaluating AI approaches to Auslan recognition, building accessibility prototypes, and engaging the community.
Our first current activity — the Auslan accessibility and inclusive technology project — is underway. The work includes applied evaluation of computer-vision and AI approaches to Auslan recognition across different viewing conditions, accessibility prototypes, charitable-purpose datasets, and engagement with community, education and research stakeholders.
The primary beneficiaries are Deaf and hard-of-hearing people who use, or may benefit from, Auslan and accessible communication technologies. The project is conducted for public benefit — to produce accessible evidence, methods, resources and tools — rather than a commercial product.
We are keen to work alongside Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities and relevant partners. If that's you, please get in touch.
