Octopus Future is now an independent not-for-profit

Octopus Future Limited was registered with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) on 20 August 2026 as a public company limited by guarantee (ACN 701 584 447, ABN 70 701 584 447) in New South Wales.

This is the legal foundation for a new, independent not-for-profit dedicated to accessibility, inclusion and equitable participation — with an initial focus on Auslan and accessibility for Deaf and hard-of-hearing people.

As a company limited by guarantee, Octopus Future has no shareholders and pays no dividends: any surplus is applied solely to its charitable purpose. It is governed by an independent board under a Constitution and a framework of board-approved policies.
